Public foot paths
are just yards away from the cottages, leading down to the river Umborne: a great place for picnics, bird watching, or just a leisurely stroll.
The nearby coastal resort of Lyme Regis, in the neighbouring county of Dorset, is just 6miles away, with its famous Cobb harbour. It is also a well-known haunt for fossil-hunters; sea fishing, sailing and boat hire are all available. Axe Valley Animal Park, The National Trust property of Shute Baron house, Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama are all within easy reach of the cottage. And the cathedral city of Exeter (with theatre, leisure centre and shopping facilities) is approximately 30 minutes drive.
